My artwork serves to celebrate and preserve the intimacy and permanency of handwritten musings in an electronic age of instant email and text communication where the delete button now expels the person, the place and the moment to the bin.

I have utilised encaustic (using heat and wax to bond layers) as my method of expression: it is malleable yet strong, a physical and interactive process which allows for layering, building up and scraping back, blurring, encasing, burnishing and sealing. A fitting cathartic process for my concept.
