Maggie Marshall

I was born in North Wales, and moved to Worcestershire at an early age.  I grew up near the Clent Hills, frequently climbing and walking over them. It was these areas in Worcestershire and Wales that triggered my passion for landscape.

Art education began at Stourbridge School of Art, and Dudley College. From 1991 – 1996 studied at Surrey Institute of Art & Design (Farnham) graduating with a Fine Art Degree.

I have exhibited work in various colleges, the Maltings Farnham, South Worcestershire College, The Gallery Ledbury, Malvern Picture Framing/Gallery.

For six years I have worked locally as a picture framing/gallery assistant, as well as continuing to produce my own work, which has been displayed there.

I have worked in the Marketing Department of Ravel (Retail Fashion Company).  Also worked as a studio assistant in the Colour and Design Studio of Crown/Sanderson Wallcoverings, making up colour schemes and presentations for both domestic and commercial clients.

I now live in Malvern, and from my home enjoy views of the hills and ever changing weather and skies. I also paint seascapes influenced by the Welsh coastline.

Using a mixture of media I create paintings that capture the mood and seasonal elements of the environment. Memory and imagination play a major part in the creative process of my work.  Vivid colour and light are key factors in my paintings.
